Parent Involvement

Big Thompson Elementary School is fortunate to have a number of community and parent volunteers who support the endeavors of the teachers and staff any way they can. Our volunteer team works diligently to ensure the success of each and every child at Big T.

Our school consistently has numerous volunteers who actively seek out new and innovative ways to give of their time and talents to the kids and staff. These numbers are a testament indeed to our amazing level of parent involvement and the community's support for Big T.

No matter your talent, interest, skills, or experiences, there is a place for you to plug in and make a difference at Big T while supporting your child's educational experience.

School Accountability Advisory Committee (SAAC)
This committee of parents and staff members focuses on the educational and business aspects of the school. Meetings are generally held on the second Thursday of every month.

Parent-Teacher Association (PTA)
This organization works to support teachers and students through a variety of fun activities. PTA pays for field trips, AR, assemblies, our science lab, teacher support and many fun events throughout the year.

The variety of talents, strengths, and areas of interest our volunteers bring to Big T are what make our volunteer team so strong and successful. All you need is a desire to make a difference! To inquire about any of these committees, contact us at
